Susa Cranes — Lift, Move, Deliver
Susa Cranes HIAB truck — boat & yacht lifts · perth
Common HIAB job

Boat & Yacht Lifts · Perth

Yacht off the trailer, onto the cradle. Or off the cradle, back onto the trailer. Marina-side, in and out clean.

The job, explained

How it works.

Boat lifts are a HIAB specialty — yacht hulls and motorboats off trailers at the ramp, into cradles in the yard, or off cradles and back onto trailers ready for transport. Standard work across Perth's main marinas: Hillarys Boat Harbour, Fremantle, Two Rocks, Rockingham, Mandurah, and the smaller pens up the coast.

Sailboats up to around 30ft and motorboats up to roughly 7.5 tonnes are within standard reach for a HIAB lift. We handle the keel-and-strap rigging, place the boat exactly onto the cradle pads, and do haul-outs the same way in reverse. Mast-on or mast-off both fine — depends on what you've got organised at the marina.

Tides, wind, and marina permits affect the timing more than most jobs. Booking ahead helps — we slot boat lifts in early morning or evening windows when the wind's down and the ramp is quieter. After-hours lifts are doable when the marina allows it and the schedule suits.

Combined moves work too: lift the boat off the cradle, drive it across to another marina or to your driveway, lift it down. One callout, one fee. Worth flagging in the quote so we can plan the route and confirm reach at both ends.

Common questions

FAQs.

What size boats can you lift?

Sailboats up to around 30ft and motorboats up to roughly 7.5 tonnes — that's the standard envelope for a HIAB. Bigger boats need a larger crane or specialist boat-lift gear. Send the boat dimensions and weight (most yachts have it on the rego) and we'll confirm before booking.

Which Perth marinas do you work at?

Hillarys Boat Harbour, Fremantle (Challenger Harbour and Success Harbour), Two Rocks Marina, Mindarie, Rockingham, Mandurah Ocean Marina — the lot. We also do smaller private cradles and driveway lifts. Drop the marina name in the quote.

Can you do after-hours or weekend boat lifts?

Sometimes — depends on the marina's access and whether the schedule suits. Weekend availability is tighter than weekdays. For weather-sensitive jobs (sailboats with masts up, calm-wind windows), early morning Mon–Fri usually works best.

Can you transport the boat between marinas after the lift?

Yes. Lift the boat off the cradle, secure it to the truck, drive it to the new marina, lift it down. One callout covers the lot. Tell us both ends of the trip in the quote and we'll plan the route.
