Susa Cranes — Lift, Move, Deliver
Susa Cranes HIAB truck — sign installation & removal · perth
Common HIAB job

Sign Installation & Removal · Perth

New sign onto the pole. Old sign down off the building. Either way, in and out without a scaffold.

The job, explained

How it works.

Signage work is bread-and-butter HIAB. New pylon signs installed onto poured-in foundations, fascia signs lifted onto shopfronts, billboard panels swapped, and old signs decommissioned and lowered down for disposal. The crane reach handles most retail, commercial, and street-frontage signage without the cost of a full scaffold setup.

Common installs: 6m and 9m pylon signs at fuel stations, retail centres, and trade yards. Building-mounted fascia signs onto pubs, cafés, and offices. LED and digital sign panels onto existing pylons. Awning and canopy signage placed in tight street-frontage situations where access is limited.

For removals — old signage is often the trickier job. We unbolt or cut the panel free, take the load on the crane slings, and lower it cleanly onto the truck or a waste skip. No risk of dropping it on the storefront below. Common removal work: business closures, rebrand projects, and council-mandated decommissions.

Most signage jobs are after-hours or early-morning to keep the storefront open during trading hours. We work to retail and commercial schedules — book ahead and we'll slot the job for the quietest window.

Common questions

FAQs.

Can you install a pylon sign on a freshly-poured base?

Yes — once the concrete is cured to spec (usually 7+ days). We arrive on the booked time, lift the pylon clean off the truck, set it onto the bolts, and hold while the installer torques it down. Send the pylon spec sheet through with the quote so we can confirm weight and reach.

Do you do sign removals as well as installs?

Yes. Old fascia signs, decommissioned pylons, redundant LED panels — all standard work. The crane takes the weight while the installer disconnects the fixings, then lowers the panel onto the truck or skip. Often combined with new signage installation on the same callout.

Can you work after-hours for retail signage?

Yes. Most retail and commercial signage gets done after-hours, before opening, or on weekends to avoid disrupting trading. Tell us the trading hours when you book and we'll slot the lift for the quietest window.

What's the maximum sign size you can lift?

Standard reach handles pylons up to about 9m and panels up to roughly 7.5 tonnes — that covers most Perth commercial signage. For taller pylons (12m+) or unusually heavy panels, send the spec and we'll confirm whether the HIAB suits or whether it needs a larger crane.
